Advice From One of The Greatest Mentors

I’ve had a lot of mentors in my life. One of the greatest for me was and still is a Youtube mentor of mine that is the mentor of mentors. Mr. Jim Rohn.

Jim Rohn once said, “Success is not something you pursue. What you pursue will elude you; it can be like trying to chase butterflies. Success is something you attract by becoming an attractive person.”

This quote highlights an important aspect of winning in life: it’s not just about achieving external goals, but about becoming the kind of person who naturally attracts success. Here are some insights from Jim Rohn on how to do just that:

  1. Take responsibility for your life: If you want to win in life, you need to stop blaming others for your circumstances and start taking ownership of your choices. As Jim Rohn said, “You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself.”
  2. Invest in yourself: The most successful people are lifelong learners. They invest in their education, personal development, and skills, knowing that this investment will pay off in the long run. As Jim Rohn said, “Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.”
  3. Set clear goals: Without clear goals, it’s easy to get off track and lose focus. Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals for yourself, and make a plan to achieve them. As Jim Rohn said, “Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.”
  4. Develop good habits: Your habits define who you are and determine your success. Develop good habits that support your goals, such as exercising regularly, reading every day, and practicing gratitude. As Jim Rohn said, “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”
  5. Surround yourself with positive influences: Your environment plays a significant role in shaping your mindset and behavior. Surround yourself with positive people who inspire and support you, and limit your exposure to negative influences. As Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

Winning in life is not about luck or talent; it’s about developing the right mindset, habits, and skills. As Jim Rohn said, “Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.” Focus on Becoming the kind of person who attracts success, and the rest will follow.
